Participants present Ruth Fowler, Mark Rosensteed, Donna Carroll, Mary Fleetwood, Capt. Estelle T. Young, Darrell Chambers, Mary Jo Mcinerny, Beth Dinkins-Robinson, Barbara Wilson, J.J. Gentry, Brenda Myers.

Bar Staff Present: Lisa Burgess, Beth DeHart and Donna Branham.

The meeting was called to order by Beth DeHart welcomed everyone to the meeting and asked the group to introduce themselves.

Ms. DeHart briefed the group on the purpose of this meeting and information that is available to them by request.

Ms. Burgess welcomes the group and speaks out about the support from the LRE division.

Ms. DeHart informs the group that September is National Youth Court Month. There will also be a press release for the SC Bar to support statewide youth courts.

Ms. Burgess explains the training workshops and resources that are available from Web-site Youthcourts.net.

Ms. DeHart asks that everyone put there e-mail address on the sign-in sheet to give everyone a copy to contact each other on questions and ideas about Youth Courts. Ms DeHart continues with the agenda and introduces Brenda Myers W. A. Perry School based Youth Court coordinator district 1-2 and Lee county. Ms. Myers and Ms. DeHart

Explained to the group the importance of a Statewide Association for information training and common goal.

Statewide Association would promote itself by working with other group associated with the Bar as well as outside. Several things he Association would attempt do:

o Developing a association membership.

o Have a centralized location.

o Have information for new Youth Courts.

o Training for existing and new Youth Courts.

o A common goal for all Youth Courts.

o Promote development.

o A communication network.

o Technical support.

o Electronic newsletter for all members and associates.

Ms. DeHart mentions a annual Youth Court Conference once the association is established. Have student representative that would receive credit for attending the meetings.

Ruth Fowler suggests a logo for the association.

Ms. Myers stresses the importance of recruiting and establishing sponsors for funds.
